Spring break News was a writing activity in my 5th grade class, created for the students to tell me what they did during their spring break. They were given a brainstorm template to write in key points for each day. From there, the students were given the option to to write about one specific day from their break or the week as a whole. The students used the template to the left to complete their final copy of their writing.
Spring break writing activity
The black history unit was build on the interest shown by my 5th grade students. It was a topic they had asked to cover, therefore I created the unit to further develop and explore their knowledge. In the unit plan below, you will find a detailed description of what the students were to achieve along with various lesson plans. The additional documents below were support documents and activities to enhance the lessons.
