Why media and technology?
Media and technology have a significant importance in our educational settings. There are many different tools and equipments available to educators to be used in the classroom. Technology can be implemented into the classroom seamlessly and can help enhance a students learning experience. Technology is continuously developing; therefore, I believe it is essential for educators to dedicate the time into expanding their knowledge on the various resources available.
Within the media and technology section of my portfolio, I discuss why I believe technology to be beneficial in the learning environment as well as different ways I have incorporated it into my classroom.
Media and technology are prevalent in our students everyday lives. Therefore, it is crucial that we discuss the impact and importance it has in our classrooms. We must help our students become digital citizens as media and technology have become increasingly popular in today's society.

With technology continually advancing, there are a significant amount of websites, apps, and online classroom resources readily available. Through the use of these technologies, students are given the opportunity, to explore, discover and create. This is a fun and engaging way for students to learn.
Media literacy should be taught within the classroom as it allows students to become critical thinkers, recognize points of view, identify the role of media in our society, understand the creator's goal as well as give students the tools to create media responsibly.
