Technology & Learning Statement
In todays society, media and technology is becoming significantly prominent in the classroom. Although I do not believe that technology will replace educators, I do believe that it is an additional factor in how individuals learn today. Media and technology can be beneficial for student learning when used appropriately.Technology can be very influential, however, at times it may cause distractions.
Technology is consistently evolving, thus it is important that educators evolve with it. By developing my knowledge about the different technologies available, it will allow me to further educate and assist my students. Learning about technology is crucial as it is part of everyday life, which will permit me to instruct students on how to use the resources in an appropriate and advantageous way.
Class activities through:
- Blogs, apps, projects, informative videos, pictures, storytelling, research, & game-based learning.
Technology in the classroom can be used to enhance lessons and course content.
It is important that the knowledge and information is taught by the teacher first and can then be reinforced through the use of technology.
Tech in the Classroom
Tech in the class is beneficial as it can be tailored to students learning needs as well as incorporate students learning preferences/interests.
Students can explore their creativity. I have personally done robotics and coding with my students where they got to put their creativity to the test and were ecstatic about the process.
Students with special needs can strive increasingly when resources are made available. This is in part due to the various softwares and assistive technologies that have been created. Educators can provide tools to help all students succeed to their full potential.
Teaching and technology development go hand-in-hand. As teacher's we must evolve with the technology in order to be able to incorporate it effectively.

Integrating technology in the classroom
TPACK model
Technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) is the way in which a teacher uses the knowledge that she/he has in order to teach from a technological point of view. TPACK is also how one teaches their knowledge through the effective use of technology. Lastly, TPACK informs teachers how they can integrate technology into their teaching. Technology can be applied creatively by using new technologies and evaluating how there are used in authentic and creative ways. (Click the flower for more information).

Bloom's digital Taxonomy
Bloom's Digital Taxonomy informs teachers about implementing technology and digital tools in the classroom to facilitate students learning and outcomes. Based on students current level, they must develop their skills in that given area in order to move on to the next level. Bloom's digital taxonomy allows teachers to go through the various tools in order to tailor students learning experience. The different activities allow educators to choose what is most suitable for their students at that given time. It provides students with the time and tools to move forward at their own pace.
